The doors are open to those who only know how to push them.
“Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Western hemisphere, has long been considered a simple walk if you take the easiest routes. The difficulty of ascending this mountain is underestimated by many people since it can be attempted with no technical expertise. In 1996, the year I was tempted by the summit, Aconcagua’s story was different. The success rate reported to the authorities at the Aconcagua Provincial Park was 3%, compared to 40% in other years. I felt privileged to be among that 3% of climbers who were able to admire the view from the peak of Aconcagua! It was this first major climb that gave me the climbing bug and the desire to climb all the other great peaks of our planet!”
