Next challenge: Florida Ironman 2010

June 27, 2010: First day of training for the 2010 Florida Ironman that will take place in Panana City (Florida) on november 6,2010. This challenge starts with a 2.4 miles swim in the Gulf of Mexico then bike for 112 miles then run for 26.2 miles. My Everest: get over my fear of water, I never swam in my whole life. Am I trying the impossible?

May 28, 2010: Gabriel is coming home

Gabriel is on his way to Katmandu, and will finally have access to his mail! He feels great and received today, by the Chinese authorities, his second certificat attesting his latest Everest summit. He shares this accomplishment, climbing Everest from both sides, with just one other Canadian and is the only recipient in the province of Quebec.

Congratulations Gabriel!

He will be back in Montreal (Dorval airport-PET) on Tuesday, June 1st, at 14:55. See you there!

New title for Gabriel on Everest! Print E-mail
On may 24th, Gabriel became the first Quebecer to reach the summit of mount Everest from both sides. Gabriel climbed the highest mountain in the world from the north face, the Tibetan side. He has reached the summit from the south side, on the Nepalese side, in May 2005.

Even more important than the summit of Everest, the fundraising campaign reached his goal. Thanks to the sponsors who believed in the cause: Abbott, Adidas, Air France,Berendo,Familiprix,Groupe Créatech,Immunotec,La Cordée,The North Face, Vidéotron,Wal Mart. Thanks to the donators. With all your support, kids with juvenile arthritis will go to a summer camp and the research and development will resume. On behalf of Kamille, all the kids and the Arthritis Society, I would like to say a big THANK YOU!
